What We Think · Annual Research
The Elixir AI Outlook. Published annually. Grounded in original research across 200+ enterprise leaders. Tells you where enterprise AI is stalling and what the firms generating returns are doing differently.
The Elixir AI Outlook is the group's flagship annual research publication. The 2026 edition surveyed 200 enterprise leaders across Gulf, India, and global markets. The findings confirm five structural decisions that consistently separate production AI programmes from stalled pilots. The AI-First Manifesto is the codification of those findings.

The Elixir AI Outlook began as a structured attempt to answer one question: after two years of AI investment across Gulf, India, and global enterprise markets, why are most programmes still not in production? The 2026 edition is the first full publication. The 2027 edition will track whether the structural decisions identified in 2026 are being adopted and what has changed in production outcomes as a result.
2026 edition
The Elixir AI Outlook 2026: Key findings.
The 2026 Outlook surveyed 200 enterprise leaders across the Gulf, India, and global markets on the current state of their AI programmes: where they are in the journey from pilot to production, what is blocking them, and what the firms already generating returns did differently at the start of their programmes.
The findings converge on five structural decisions. Enterprises generating returns from AI shared all five: they defined the outcome before selecting the technology. They built AI inside their existing enterprise platforms rather than alongside them. They assigned a permanent operations team to run the agents after go-live. They confirmed their data foundation before any AI was scoped. And they designed governance into the first sprint, not after go-live.
Enterprises whose programmes stalled consistently failed on at least one of these five. Most failed on three or more. The 2026 Outlook presents the data behind each finding and the production outcome evidence that validates each structural decision from Elixir's own Hypercases.

Most programmes have not reached production
After two years of investment, the majority of enterprise AI programmes surveyed had not moved beyond proof-of-concept or pilot status.
Data foundation is the most common failure point
Data quality, accessibility, and governance issues are the most frequently cited reason for programme stall. Most were discovered mid-build rather than pre-build.
Platform-native deployments consistently outperform
Programmes building AI inside SAP, Oracle, and Salesforce produce materially different outcomes than programmes building AI alongside those platforms.
Permanent operations is the missing layer
Programmes that handed the agent to the client post-go-live saw consistent performance degradation within six months. Programmes under permanent operations continued to improve.
